Transcode AVI to Samsung Blu-ray Player format on macOS Sierra/Windows 10 for playing

“Hi, I have a BDPS590 which was playing all my AVI files through DLNA and USB as well. Now, when I try to play these files, 7 out of 10 won’t play anymore. They can still be played with my Samsung DVD player and my Toshiba TV, so the files themselves are OK. What happened? How can the player decide that some files are not compatible anymore? Which characteristics in these files prevent them to be played? Symptom: I get the message “the file is corrupted or unreadable” and then BDPS590 tries to play the next file, and it continues until it finds a readable file. I own the player since January 2015 and this problem first appeared 2 weeks ago. Can it be solved with one way? Thanks!”

Many of us have been asking: “Will AVI play on Samsung Blu-ray Player? Why some of my AVI files play on Blu-ray Player, while others cannot?”. In fact, whether the Blu-ray Player play AVI videos or not, it depends on the Blu-ray Player model, the AVI video codec or the AVI video resolution/size. Let’s look at the Samsung Blu-ray Player supported formats

Limitations:
1. Even when the file is encoded by a supported codec listed above, a file might not be played if its content has a problem.
2. Normal playback is not guaranteed if the file’s container information is wrong or the file itself is corrupted.
3. Files having higher Bit rate/frame rate than indicated in the table above may stutter when played back.
4. Seek (Jump) function is not available if the file’s index table is damaged.
5. When a file is played back remotely through a network connection, video playback may stutter depending on the network speed.
6. Some USB/Digital camera devices may not be compatible with the product.

Note: Some AVI, MKV, and MP4 format discs may not play, depending on their video resolution and frame rate.
